NEWS! The Conran Shop's new 'Kids' Shop'

Marc Newson's White Rocky, £642

Gone are the days when the focal point of a child's bedroom was the Danger Mouse duvet set. These days you little ones' bedrooms are the ultimate showcase for your own style and flair - who cares if the rest of the house is a mess? The Conran Shop have been listening to their style-mad parent customers and from Sept 20 will launch a special new 'Kids' Shop'. Shoppers will find over 650 children's interiors products at the very upper end of the designer scale from Marc Newson minimalist white rocking horse (above) to the charming Canal House wardrobes (pictured below). The ground floor will be transformed into a fantastical children's wonderland with neon-painted play sheds, candy coloured sheepskin bean bags and tree houses bunk beds. CLB is happy to hear there will be a fine range of haberdashery (buttons, sweing kits and fabrics) with oil cloth and ribbon to buy by the metre.

Jools Oliver's Little Bird collection for Mothercare review

The windows of the new Little Bird collection at Mothercare, Oxford Street
CLB popped into the vast Mothercare flagship on Oxford Street today to check out Jools Oliver's just-launched Little Bird  range for the high street colossus. We admit we were cynical about yet another celebrity design collaboration. Mothercare were clearly hoping for a repeat of the Myleene Klass' Baby K collection, which flew out the doors, but could Jools deliver? Shockingly yes, it's actually rather gorgeous. Mum-of-four Jools has created some really pretty (but not too twee) pieces including Liberty-esque printed smock dress and gathered skirt, a canary yellow cardigan and Scandi-style striped T-shirts for boys and girls. Overall it's less brash than Klass' more frill-filled concoctions. There's also a cute unisex rainbow decorated range for newborns, as well as bedding. The quality was fine (glad to see most things were 100 per cent cotton) and the colours bold; not a sickly pastel in sight. But of course this being Mothercare, the best bit was the prices - from £6 for leggings! And yes, Miss Evie and Little Lola will be enjoying a few new pieces in their wardrobes (see below).  Little Bird at Mothercare

Little Lola has been wearing the above top, £55, off and on all year - a great all-year-around piece. Sun San sandals web-shop launch

We've been waiting for this moment for some time. Finally, since launching here last year American sandal brand Sun San (known as Salt Water in the US) is available online in the UK. Wooooooo-hoo! Not only are the sandals elegant and super-pretty but they are also practical: your little ones can even wear them in the sea. And to think we used to have to wear jelly shoes while exploring rock pools. From baby sizes right up to mummy sizes with some lovely styles for boys thrown in (nice one). From £35 at www.sunsansandals.co.uk
