CLB ♥ KAREN BROST LONDON BABY

Every now and then a new label launches that has CLB’s tummy doing mini somersaults. Cue the new range of illustrated babygros by US-born, London-based designer, Karen Brost. Better known for her super-glam red-carpet frocks worn by Gwyneth Paltrow, Sharon Stone and Melanie Griffith, Brost has turned her fairytale-meets-rock aesthetic to baby wear. HOORAY! The result is these striking, distinctively illustrated one-pieces which we are sure will become arty heirlooms. Featuring stylised flamingo motifs, mini beefeater regalia and electric guitars. Launching in Liberty in mid-September, we are sure no chic little babe worth their Aden + Anais muslin will be seen without one.

From £45 at www.liberty.co.uk from Sept 19.

Little Hanbury - a new website for boys

Patch hoodie by ESP No1, £49

There are numerous great online fashion shops for little girls but hardly any dedicated purely to boys' style. Mum and creative thinker Sarah Elek spotted this gaping hole in the market and decided to fill it with a new website for tiny tykes (from 2-10 year olds). She has sourced a lovely selection of stylish pieces including Urbanears headphones, patterned Happy Socks (in super-cute tiny sizes) and fashion for mini hipsters by labels like Imps and Elfs and a CLB fave, Tootsa MacGinty. It's not all about just looking good though – Elek, mum to an active boy herself, knows that the items she's picked need to withstand the rough and tumble and multi-washes. At last, a one-stop shop for style-conscious boys (and their mums). Just add mud. www.littlehanbury.co.uk

Scooby Doo – style icons for a four year old

Velma, Fred, Daphne, Scooby and Shaggy

Have you ever thought of the Scooby Doo crew as style icons? My nearly four-year-old has became obsessed with the dress-sense of both Daphne (red hair, head band) and Velma. Come to think of it, with her bowl-cut, think rimmed glasses and orange roll necks, Velma is the ultimate geek girl icon isn't she? Miss E currently alternates between being 'Daphne', complete with surgically attached headband (which she even wears it to bed) and Velma on the days she's in the mood for wearing socks and plastic play-glasses and feeling a little more demure. Apparently, daddy is Shaggy, Stewy the cat is Scooby and baby sis, Little Lola is Scrappy Doo. So there you have it, the American '70s  cartoon lives on and is still setting trends in our corner of north London. Zoiks!

CLB ♥ aden + anais Hello Kitty collaboration

Aden + Anais - Hello Kitty bibs

Oh LOOK, two of our favourite brands just got together. Aden + anais, makers of the cult printed muslins that any self respecting 10 month old can't live without, has paired up with world mega-brand Hello Kitty. The limited edition pieces include Hello Kitty printed swaddle packs, £40, blankets, £49.95 and bibs, £25. We can't think of a better new baby girl gift this spring. Available from April 1 at www.adenandanais.co.uk

Kate Middleton's baby bump: five essential items

Dip-dyed shirt, £230, Acne
Poor old Kate Middy, she can't even sun her baby bump on the super-exclusive, private island of Mustique without being snapped by a Pap and promptly put in Italian celeb mag, Chi. Still, on the bright side at least she looked gorgeous sporting her tiny, neat bump – no corn beef mottling or saggy buns to be embarrassed about. But what should the Duchess of Cambridge wear when she needs to cover up? CLB recommends looking at the chic maternity ranges by Seraphine, 9London and Babes with Babies and once baby has arrived Peaks of London for the most stylish breast-feeding frocks we have come across (T-shirt brands at Pretty Pregnant). A good idea is to also buy wardrobe staples that will last way past the pregnancy. Here we select our five favourites: a cape, a blouse, maternity jeans (trust us, these will get you through the first year of motherhood), flat shoes and a smart mac.

Sun San sandals web-shop launch

We've been waiting for this moment for some time. Finally, since launching here last year American sandal brand Sun San (known as Salt Water in the US) is available online in the UK. Wooooooo-hoo! Not only are the sandals elegant and super-pretty but they are also practical: your little ones can even wear them in the sea. And to think we used to have to wear jelly shoes while exploring rock pools. From baby sizes right up to mummy sizes with some lovely styles for boys thrown in (nice one). CLB ♥ toddler wear at Jam Shop

Fairtrade clothes with serious fashion credentials? Check out Sahel Design, a label recently launched by Charlie Davies, a fashion editor-turned-missionary who is helping revive traditional craft techniques in Burkina Faso. As a resident of the small West African country, Charlie combines her love of fashion with her passion for humanity; every penny of profits of Sahel designs goes back to the women who make them. CLB is smitten with its exquisite accessories for women - think pretty tassel bags and chunky ebony necklaces (show your husbands and partners pronto). Now, as a fun side project Charlie has just launched a range of toddler wear made by local tailors for her online shop Jam Shop. The vibrant yet subtle Africa prints in mini designs - from just £10 for a jumpsuit - make us melt. Ethical fashion at its very best. Available from Jam Shop
