NEW RANGE! LIBERTY KIDS RANGE

We can’t quite believe it’s taken Liberty until now to launch its own range of Liberty-print kidswear. Other brands have been using the 1875-established store's glorious floral fabrics for years but now you can finally get in-house children's designs. The seventy-strong piece range for 0-8 year-olds includes dreamy rose-print frocks, £60, pretty scallop blouses, £45, and luscious Liberty print shirt for the boys, from £40. CLB’s personal favourite? A super-cool Yoshi-print jumper dress for £80. Little Lola has her eye on it...

CLB ♥ toddler wear at Jam Shop

Fairtrade clothes with serious fashion credentials? Check out Sahel Design, a label recently launched by Charlie Davies, a fashion editor-turned-missionary who is helping revive traditional craft techniques in Burkina Faso. As a resident of the small West African country, Charlie combines her love of fashion with her passion for humanity; every penny of profits of Sahel designs goes back to the women who make them. CLB is smitten with its exquisite accessories for women - think pretty tassel bags and chunky ebony necklaces (show your husbands and partners pronto). Now, as a fun side project Charlie has just launched a range of toddler wear made by local tailors for her online shop Jam Shop. The vibrant yet subtle Africa prints in mini designs - from just £10 for a jumpsuit - make us melt. Ethical fashion at its very best. Available from Jam Shop

CLB ♥ Seven Smooches recycled puppets

How charming are these handmade puppets by innovative Chicago-based label Seven Smooches? Each one is totally unique and environmentally friendly - they are all hand-crafted in recycled wool and cashmere. Can't think of a more original baby present. £28 at Molly Meg.

Hello Kitty Liberty Art Fabrics

Lola Maud and I popped to Liberty today for the eagerly anticipated launch of the Hello Kitty/Liberty Art fabrics collaboration. A giant sized Hello Kitty greeted us alongside a gaggle of glam mums and their over-excited daughters. Utilising Liberty's heritage style, the cult Japanese kid's character has been worked into five limited-edition fabrics which have been selling fast since they launched online this weekend. Not the most natural of style marriages you may think but bizarrely it works quite brilliantly. Our favourite? The jolly 'Orange Kitty Town' print above. The range - which also includes ultra-collectible goodies like tote bags, jewellery boxes and key rings - is up on the third floor, nestled in Liberty's fabric department until it sells out. Judging by the reaction of children and parents alike today, that could be very soon. You can also buy the fabrics online here from £21 per metre.

    Liberty fashion fabrics: child inspired

    Jane Ray visualisation

We can't quite express how much we adore these new Liberty art fabrics, inspired by famous children's illustration. The Liberty Art Fabric Design Studio has developed 50 new designs in conjunction with a host of well-known children's illustrators including Lauren Child, of Charlie & Lola fame, Quentin Blake and Sally Haysom. We love to see how their vision (shown here in their 'visualisations') has been translated into beautiful spring Liberty fabrics good enough for grown-ups too (see below). Simply charming.
